I’m only just now able to find the strength to type these words.

Memphis got robbed. We went into that game and got screwed in the last seconds by refs who couldn’t see an obvious foul if it had slapped them in the face. Yes, we missed lots of foul shots that we probably should have made. I have already reprimanded my fair-weather fan of a husband for his disrespectful post immediately following the loss.

Memphis came out shaky in the first half. It was obvious that both teams were nervous and wanted to win. The score was close at the half. Second half, my team came out and started playing like they had all season. They were spectacular. And then those horrible foul shots started coming up short. They started to lose their cool. They were in the game of their lives!

Kansas looked like garbage from the get-go. Whatever. You won. But it’s a hollow victory. Wear your rings and your hats, but know that you sunk that 3 only because some ref didn’t blow his whistle when he should have. We would have gotten that ball back, up three, fussed around for 2.8 seconds and the ticker tape would have fallen on Memphis. Where it should have all along.

Those boys had an awesome season. I hope the best for all of them in their educations, careers, and families. They showed class and style in a game where there usually isn’t much at all anymore.
